It is rather obvious that all pregnant women should try to eat a good, healthful diet with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and grains. And certain vitamins are needed more during pregnancy, to ensure a healthy baby, so be sure to take your prenatal vitamins as instructed by your doctor or health care provider.
But there are also some foods that should be avoided, particularly while pregnant.
Avoid Alcohol
Avoid seafood high in mercury, especially swordfish, shark, king mackerel,and tilefish.
Avoid raw, undercooked or contaminated seafood, to avoid harmful bacteria and viruses.
